On June 16, 2011, exactly 11 years ago, the 8MSB helicopter powered by the TV3-117VMA-SBM1V series 4E engines performed its maiden flight in Zaporizhzhia, which became the first success of MOTOR SICH Helicopter Program.
In 2011, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine has certified MOTOR SICH JSC as an Aircraft Design Organisation, and issued Supplemental Type Certificate No. ÄÒÂ-0003 for the 8MSB helicopter.
The designing and further development of the 8MSB helicopter and the national Helicopter Program in its entirety is the result of fruitful work of thousands of MOTOR SICH employees, as well as a number of Ukrainian codevelopers, research institutions, certification and testing centers.
Outstanding altitude performance of the TV3-117VMA-SBM1V series 4E engines enable the helicopter basing at sites located at an altitude of up to 4200 meters, and its service ceiling is 7300 m.
The 8MSB helicopter powered by the TV3-117VMA-SBM1V series 4E engines set a number of world records, including the absolute record for horizontal flight altitude in the E1-9155 m category, which is 300 meters higher than Everest, the world's highest mountain peak.
The helicopter is distinguished from its analogues by easy maintenance, high maintainability and reliability.
