It is used for installation in transport helicopters. The engine features a single-shaft gas generator and free turbine. It maintains the power at high ambient air temperatures, high airfield altitude and high flight altitude. The takeoff power is 1,500 hp. The 2.5-min. power rating ensures safe takeoff and landing of the helicopter with one engine inoperative. |
